NHS Central East Integrated Care Board was formed on 1 April 2026 and is the successor to Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes ICB, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB and the Hertfordshire part of the former Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB.
Central East ICB is in the process of harmonising some clinical policies into a single version that applies to people across the whole Central East area.
All other clinical commissioning policies, prescribing decisions and recommendations and clinical pathways agreed by predecessor ICBs have been transferred to Central East ICB. These legacy policies will continue to apply to people living in that former ICB’s area until any new policy is adopted by the NHS Central East ICB. Where a proposed change to a clinical policy could affect people’s access to treatment we will engage with local people and communities beforehand.
