As Executive Director of Corporate Services and ICB Development and Transition Director, Karen is responsible for making sure the ICB operates to high standards, transitions successfully through structural change and delivers on corporate priorities.
Karen leads various portfolios within the ICB including patient experience and complaints; external affairs and delivery; corporate governance, emergency planning and legal.
She joined the ICB from Norfolk and Waveney ICB, where she was Executive Director of Corporate Affairs.
Karen has experience in strategic change programmes. Most recently she led on the merger of three ICBs to form the new Central East ICB. Previously she led on the establishment of South Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the merger of the five Norfolk and Waveney CCGs and subsequent transition to Norfolk and Waveney ICB.
Karen is a qualified solicitor by profession (currently non-practising) and moved into the NHS from private practice. Karen co-chairs the national ICB governance leads network.
