Our core services
The key functions delivered by the ICB to support high-quality, safe, and effective healthcare across the region, including safeguarding, NHS continuing healthcare for people with complex needs, the safe and appropriate prescribing of medicines, and the use of data and evaluation to improve healthcare planning for the future.
-
Safeguarding
Safeguarding means protecting people’s health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. This is a key duty for Central East Integrated Care Board.
-
Continuing healthcare
Some people with long-term, complex health needs qualify for a package of ongoing healthcare, arranged and funded entirely by the NHS. This is known as All Age Continuing Care.
-
Medicines utilisation
Our role in medicines utilisation is to provide assurance that medicines which are prescribed across the system are safe, evidence-based, and clinically appropriate.
-
Intelligence and data
Building a first-class capability in data, intelligence, health economics, and evaluation underpins our work.
