Devices – Cough Assist/Mechanical Insufflation-Exsufflation (MI-E)

CoughAssist, also known as Mechanical Insufflation-Exsufflation (MI-E), is a device that helps clear mucus from the airways by assisting a person's cough using changes in air pressure. Liposuction for Lymphoedema

Liposuction for lymphoedema is a surgical procedure that removes excess fatty tissue from an affected area of the body using suction. There is currently no harmonised Central East ICB clinical policy. Local area policies transferred to Central East ICB are available where these exist.

Faecal Microbiota Transplants

Faecal microbiota transplants involve transferring processed stool from a donor to another person to help restore gut bacteria. There is currently no harmonised Central East ICB clinical policy. Local area policies transferred to Central East ICB are available where these exist.

Orthopaedics – Trigger Finger Release in Adults

Trigger finger release is a procedure used to treat trigger finger, a condition that can cause a finger or thumb to catch, lock or become difficult to straighten. The procedure involves releasing the affected tendon sheath to improve movement of the finger or thumb. There is currently no harmonised Central East ICB clinical policy. Spinal fusion is an orthopaedic surgical procedure that joins two or more bones in the spine together to reduce movement between them. There is currently no harmonised Central East ICB clinical policy. Local area policies transferred to Central East ICB are available where these exist.

Orthopaedics – Shoulder Arthroscopy

Shoulder arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses a small camera and instruments to examine or operate inside the shoulder joint. Orthopaedics – Shoulder Arthroscopic Subacromial Decompression

Shoulder arthroscopic subacromial decompression is a keyhole surgical procedure used to create more space around the shoulder by removing or reshaping tissue and bone beneath the acromion. Hip resurfacing is a type of hip surgery where the damaged surfaces of the hip joint are covered with a smooth metal covering rather than replacing the entire joint.
