If you want to know more about the treatments for COVID and if you are eligible visit the NHS website. If you are eligible, it is important to know that these treatments work best if taken quickly so be prepared and follow these actions:
Keep lateral flow tests at home.
- Keep lateral flow test kits at home so you can get tested quickly if you have any COVID symptoms.
- If you don’t have tests you can request them from certain community pharmacies that are registered to provide this service.
- You can find a pharmacy service that offers free COVID-19 rapid lateral flow tests online. You can also buy tests from a pharmacy or a reputable source online.
Take a test if you have COVID symptoms.
- If you have symptoms you should take a lateral flow test, even if your symptoms are mild.
- If your test is negative but you still have symptoms, you should take another test on each of the next two days (three tests in total over three days).
If your test is positive, call your GP surgery, NHS 111 or hospital specialist
- Call your GP surgery, NHS 111 or hospital specialist as soon as possible if your test result is positive.
- They’ll decide if you need a referral for an assessment for COVID-19 treatment or may carry out the assessment themselves.
- Further guidance on possible treatments for COVID‑19 is available on the NICE website.
