WorkWell is a Department for Work and Pensions funded programme that provides early, joined-up support for people with health-related barriers to employment. It aims to help people remain in work, return to work, or access employment through personalised support and connection into local services.
About the pilot
The pilot will run from November 2026 to March 2027 across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK).
The purpose of the pilot is to test how WorkWell can be embedded within existing local services, pathways and partnerships. Learning from the pilot will inform future commissioning, service design and mobilisation requirements ahead of a wider-scale procurement process for WorkWell delivery from April 2027 onwards.
Participation in this pilot does not guarantee involvement in future delivery arrangements.
Who can express an interest?
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from organisations that:
- already operate within Hertfordshire and/or BLMK
- deliver relevant health, care, employment, VCSE, social prescribing or wellbeing services
- have existing local partnerships and referral networks
- can mobilise quickly using existing workforce and infrastructure
- are able to deliver personalised work and health support
- can use the designated digital platform and contribute to programme evaluation
Preference will be given to organisations that can embed WorkWell activity within an existing service model, rather than creating a new standalone provision.
Funding available
The ICB intends to award up to four pilot projects across Hertfordshire and BLMK.
The maximum funding available is £49,999 per organisation. Providers must ensure that any funding requested does not exceed this amount and represents value for money for the proposed participant numbers and delivery model.
